Arab states condemn Iranian missile strikes after attacks on US interests and allies

Iran fired missiles at US bases in Gulf States excluding Oman, which played a mediating role between the US and Iran during nuclear talks.

Arab states condemned Iran on Saturday after Tehran launched missile attacks against US interests and allied countries across the Middle East, retaliating for joint US-Israeli strikes against Iran’s leadership, according to official statements and media reports.

Iran fired missiles at US bases in Gulf states, excluding Oman, which played a mediating role between the US and Iran during nuclear talks, Fox News reported.

Approximately 40 missiles landed in Israel, with at least one missile intercepted by US forces in Iraq, which were targeted in the attack. Iranian missiles were also launched toward Saudi Arabia and Jordan, where the United States operates squadrons of advanced fighter jets.

Several Gulf and Arab governments issued statements condemning the Iranian strikes and warning that they reserve the right to defend their territories.

Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates were among the countries that responded publicly.

Qatar’s Foreign Ministry said it reserves its “full right” to defend itself following what it described as Iranian aggression against Qatari territory.

Qatar’s Defense Ministry said it “successfully thwarted a number of attacks targeting the country’s territory” after multiple rounds of alerts, adding that there were no immediate injuries or damage to residential areas.

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry said it affirmed “its full solidarity with and unwavering support for the brotherly countries,” warning of “grave consequences resulting from the continued violation of states’ sovereignty and the principles of international law.”

The UAE’s Ministry of Defense said the country “was subjected to a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles,” stating that air defense systems “successfully intercepted a number of missiles.”

Authorities reported that falling debris caused “one civilian death of an Asian nationality” and material damage. The ministry described the strike as “a dangerous escalation and a cowardly act that threatens the safety of civilians and undermines stability,” and said the UAE “reserves its full right to respond.”

Jordan’s foreign minister said King Abdullah II condemned attacks on Jordanian territory and expressed solidarity with Arab states facing aggression. Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry also said it “strongly condemns the Iranian attacks” and rejected any violation of Arab sovereignty.

Oman’s Foreign Ministry, meanwhile, condemned the US-Israeli operation against Iran, warning that the fighting could expand into consequences that cannot be reversed across the region.
