He pointed to the irony of mass protests erupting across the U.S. in support of Palestinians, arguing that if similar demonstrations took place under Hamas rule, participants would be met with violence or death.
Bill Maher unleashed a fiery, profanity-laced critique of liberal Americans who express sympathy for Hamas, accusing them of glorifying a regime that would crush the very freedoms they enjoy in the West.
“Most Muslim societies live under some form of sharia law, which no westerner who thinks that Hamas is so great could ever live under,” Maher said.
“Your fundamental rights that you take for granted here in America, you would not have.”

“If it was just that issue — how women are treated — are you [expletive] kidding me?” Maher exclaimed.
Fox News media analyst Joe Concha responded by praising Maher as one of the few remaining honest voices on the American left.
“Bill Maher has increasingly become the voice of reason on the left,” Concha said on air.
“Supporting Hamas is like supporting al-Qaeda — it’s like supporting cancer. This anti-Israel, antisemitic sentiment has become a cancer within the Democratic Party.”
Maher’s remarks have ignited intense debate online. Supporters hailed his brutal honesty and moral clarity, while critics accused him of oversimplifying the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Nonetheless, Maher’s unapologetic stance continues to set him apart as a rare dissenting voice in mainstream progressive media.
