Candace Owens slams ‘Zionists’ for Maduro arrest

Far-right American social media influencer criticizes US operation in Venezuela leading to the capture of President Maduro, blaming “Zionists” for the toppling of a “culturally conservative,” socialist authoritarian regime.

A far-right American commentator criticized the Trump administration’s decision over the weekend to strike Venezuela and arrest President Nicolás Maduro, linking the move to “Zionism.”

On Saturday, podcaster Candace Owens reposted a video on her X account of Tucker Carlson defending the regime of far-left Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro from criticism by conservative pundit Ben Shapiro.

In the video, Carlson argued that under Maduro, Venezuela became the “most socially conservative country, probably, in the hemisphere.”

Carlson falsely claimed that Venezuela “banned pornography,” and suggested that the lack of state-recognized gay marriage and broad prohibition on abortion were related to Maduro’s regime.

Abortion was outlawed in Venezuela in nearly all cases in 1915, while the national constitution passed in 1999 explicitly defined marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

“I don’t give a sh*t,” Carlson said of Shapiro’s criticism of Maduro, after Shapiro rejected Carlson’s defense of the Venezuelan leader. “Maduro’s against Israel,” Carlson continued. “Oh, okay.”

Owens responded to Carlson’s comments, lamenting Maduro’s ouster and blaming the move on “Zionists,” and “globalist psychopaths.”

“Venezuela has been ‘liberated’ like Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq were ‘liberated’,” Owens wrote on X. “The CIA has staged another hostile takeover of a country at the behest of globalist psychopaths.”

“That’s it. That’s what is happening, always, everywhere. Zionists cheer every regime change. There has never been a single regime change that Zionists have not applauded because it means they get to steal land, oil and other resources. Hope this helps.”

Owens also accused Israel’s Mossad of trafficking drugs, one of the offenses the Trump administration accused the Maduro regime of prior to Maduro’s arrest.
