Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry condemned the missile attack, describing it as a “dangerous escalation.”

US forces intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting a military base in Kuwait on Sunday, according to US Central Command, which said no American personnel were injured in the attack.
“Last night at 11 p.m. ET, U.S. forces successfully intercepted two Iranian ballistic missiles targeting American forces based in Kuwait. These missiles were immediately defeated and no American personnel were harmed,” CENTCOM posted on X.
“U.S. Central Command remains vigilant and will continue to protect our forces from Iranian aggression while supporting the ongoing ceasefire.”
According to the statement, the United States carried out “self-defense strikes on Iranian radar and command and control sites for drones” in response to Iranian attacks, including “the shootdown of a U.S. MQ-1 drone that was operating over international waters.”
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry condemned the missile attack, describing it as a “dangerous escalation.”
The ministry said Kuwait reserved the right to take the measures necessary to hold Iran “fully responsible for these heinous aggressions.”
The developments come as negotiations continue over a possible agreement to end the conflict between the United States and Iran.
On Monday night, US President Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social that indirect negotiations with Tehran were continuing “at a rapid pace.”
The diplomatic efforts coincided with reports of a possible agreement involving Hezbollah and Lebanon.
Earlier Monday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that a planned Israeli operation in Beirut would jeopardize the ceasefire and lead to “consequences” for both the United States and Israel.
Israel reportedly canceled planned strikes on Beirut following reports that Hezbollah had accepted a US-backed ceasefire proposal.
The missile interception in Kuwait occurred as military tensions and diplomatic contacts continued simultaneously across the region.
