Charlie Kirk’s suspected killer, Tyler Robinson, lived with transgender partner

Robinson is being held without bail, and Utah confirmed it will pursue the death penalty.

Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspect charged with assassinating conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, was living with a male romantic partner who identifies as a transgender woman, a source familiar with the investigation into Kirk’s murder confirmed to the Washington Free Beacon.

Robinson’s partner, who is reportedly in the process of transitioning, is said to be cooperating with authorities. Fox News first reported the revelation, which the New York Post also confirmed.

Though some liberals, including Rep. Dave Min (D., Calif.), have contended without evidence that Robinson is “MAGA,” Utah governor Spencer Cox (R.) told the Wall Street Journal that it’s “very clear to us and to the investigators that this was a person who was deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.”

One of Robinson’s family members told investigators that Robinson discussed Kirk’s visit to Utah before the shooting, a conversation that centered on “why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints that he had,” Cox said during a Friday briefing.

Robinson had “in the past registered as a nonpartisan voter in Utah,” the Journal reported, citing public records. Axios omitted that fact from its Saturday morning newsletter, which instead noted that Robinson’s parents “are registered Republicans.”

Robinson reportedly confessed to his father, who called authorities and held Robinson until they arrived. Police took Robinson into custody near St. George, Utah, late Thursday following a roughly 31-hour manhunt.

Robinson is being held without bail, and Cox has said Utah will pursue the death penalty.

Kirk, 31, leaves behind a wife, Erika, and two children.
