Crown Prince: ‘100-day transition in place if Khamenei falls’

Reza Pahlavi, son of the deposed shah, asserts that the “Islamic Republic is collapsing.”

Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi issued a dramatic appeal on Tuesday for Iranians to prepare for what he described as the imminent collapse of the Islamic Republic, as the country endures escalating military pressure from Israel, reported the Washington newspaper The Hill.

“The Islamic Republic has reached its end and is in the process of collapsing,” Pahlavi wrote on X.

He said Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had “gone into hiding underground” and “lost control of the situation.”

He also claimed that plans were in place to form a transitional democratic government within 100 days of the regime’s collapse.

Pahlavi, the son of Iran’s last shah, who was overthrown during the 1979 Islamic Revolution, urged citizens and members of the country’s security forces to join a national uprising to reclaim the country and usher in a democratic system.

“What has begun is irreversible,” he added.

“The future is bright, and together, we will pass through this sharp turn in history.”

The appeal comes as military clashes between Iran and Israel entered a fifth day, with Israeli forces continuing airstrikes targeting Tehran’s nuclear infrastructure and strategic assets.

The conflict shows no signs of abating, fueling speculation about regional instability and possible foreign intervention.

In Washington, US President Donald Trump cut short his attendance at the G7 summit in Canada and returned to the US to oversee developments.

He met on Tuesday with national security officials in the White House and has not ruled out potential American involvement in the conflict.

Pahlavi’s statement, issued in both Farsi and English, called on military, police, and government workers to defect from the Islamic regime and align themselves with the people.

“Do not stand against the Iranian people for the sake of a regime whose fall has begun and is inevitable,” he wrote.

“By standing with the people, you can save your lives… and take part in building the future of Iran.”

Though in exile for decades, Pahlavi has remained an outspoken critic of Iran’s clerical leadership.

However, it is not certain whether, despite his high name recognition, he would be in a position to grasp and hold onto power were the opportunity to arise.
