FM Sa’ar meets with Czech Dep PM and FM Petr Macinka (GPO/Shlomi Amsalem)
Czechia is in talks with Israeli defense companies over the possible purchase of advanced air-defense systems, including the Spyder and Arrow, Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka said Tuesday during a visit to Israel.
Speaking alongside Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, Macinka praised Israeli defense technology as among the world’s best and said Prague intends to deepen its political, economic and security partnership with the Jewish state.
The announcement came as the ministers opened the Israel-Czechia Business Forum in Tel Aviv, bringing together more than 200 companies and generating over 100 business meetings. The two countries also signed a declaration making the forum an annual event and expanding cooperation in technology, industry and investment.
Sa’ar thanked Czechia for its steadfast support, particularly within the European Union, praising Prague for resisting efforts to turn the bloc into a platform for anti-Israel policies.
