Election funny business reported at numerous Israeli polling stations

Election shenanigans have been reported at a number of polling places on Tuesday.

Election shenanigans have been reported at a number of polling sites during Tuesday’s national election in Israel, The Jerusalem Post reports.

The main criticism, outside of the dramatic news that the Likud had distributed 1,200 hidden cameras to their supporters to keep an eye on the Arab sector, is that voting slips have been missing from various stations.

Both the Likud and Israel Beiteinu party, led by former defense minister Avigdor Liberman, have filed complaints with the Central Elections Committee.

According to The Jerusalem Post, Likud headquarters learned that all of the Likud voting slips at 26 polling stations in the city of Petah Tikva, located east of Tel Aviv, had disappeared.

Israel Beiteinu also complained about missing ballots, The Jerusalem Post reports.

“Israel Beiteinu activists discovered this morning that a number of their ballot papers with the letter ‘lamed’ had disappeared from polling stations in Ashdod, Safed, Netanya, Bat Yam, Lod, Netivot, Hadera and Or Akiva,” the party said. Each party is assigned a Hebrew letter which appears on its voting slip. The Hebrew letter ‘Lamed’ designates a vote for Israel Beiteinu.

“Only after requests were made were ballot papers brought to the polling stations. Again, a formal complaint was filed with the Elections Committee,” said a party spokesperson.
