The European Union has linked Iran, its proxy groups and criminal networks to multiple terrorist attacks and plots across Europe, warning that the conflict involving Israel and the Iran regime has fueled a surge in extremism and antisemitism across the continent.
According to the EU’s TE-SAT 2026 report, 45 terrorist attacks were recorded across 21 member states last year, including 22 successful attacks that killed six people. Authorities also made 486 terrorism-related arrests—the highest total in recent years—with jihadist terrorism remaining the bloc’s primary security threat.
The report warns that antisemitic narratives have become increasingly common among extremist groups, with Jewish communities facing growing threats. It also highlights how social media algorithms and online propaganda are accelerating radicalization and helping terrorist organizations recruit supporters across Europe.
