Ex-model appointed by Trump to religious freedom panel defends Candace Owens, rips ‘Zionist supremacy’

Carrie Prejean Boller, a former Miss California who was appointed by President Donald Trump to the Religious Liberty Commission, uses hearing on antisemitism to defend Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson, later taking aim at “Zionist supremacy.”

A US Justice Department commissioner on religious freedom who was appointed by President Donald Trump defended controversial far-right podcasters Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson from accusations of antisemitism at a hearing this week, before castigating what she described as “Zionist supremacy.”

On Monday, the Religious Liberty Commission, which was established by President Trump last year, held its first hearing, focusing on antisemitism and religious freedom in the private sector.

During the hearing, commission member Carrie Prejean Boller grilled Babylon Bee owner and conservative activist Seth Dillon on the definition of antisemitism, taking aim at criticism of Owens and Carlson, both of whom she defended from accusations of antisemitism.

“I would really appreciate it if you would stop calling Candace Owens an antisemite,” Prejean Boller told Dillon.

“She’s not an antisemite. She just doesn’t support Zionism, and that really has to stop. I don’t know why you keep bringing her up, and Tucker.”

Dillon retorted that Owens and Carlson are “the two most famous antisemites.”

“There you go again,” Prejean Boller responded. “I guess everyone’s an antisemite.”

Later, Prejean Boller asked whether the slogan “Christ is King” and Christian claims that Jews killed Jesus would be considered antisemitic.

Notably, Prejean Boller wore a pin on her lapel with the US flag alongside the Palestine Liberation Organization flag.

Following the hearing, Prejean Boller denounced what she described as “Zionist supremacy” in a post to her X account.

“I will continue to stand against Zionist supremacy in America. I’m a proud Catholic. I, in no way will be forced to embrace Zionism as a fulfillment of biblical prophesy [sic]. I am a free American. Not a slave to a foreign nation.”

A former model, Prejean Boller won the 2009 Miss California beauty pageant – only to be stripped of her title after it was revealed that she had posed nude and made a sex tape, violating the competition’s regulations.

After she faced criticism for rejecting same-sex marriage in response to a question during the Miss USA 2009 pageant, Trump, majority owner of the Miss Universe Organization, defended Prejean Boller.

Following mainstream media backlash over her comments, Prejean Boller later became involved in Christian conservative activism, and promoted Trump in his presidential bids.

Last year, President Trump appointed her to the newly formed Religious Liberty Commission.
