‘F— you , Jew’ – Antisemitism at London gay pride parade

The harassment escalated from pro-Palestinian chants to explicit antisemitic insults directed at Jewish attendees.

By World Israel News Staff

Jewish participants in London’s gay pride parade were subjected to antisemitic abuse from other attendees while police officers nearby did not intervene, according to videos from the event and reporting by the Daily Mail.

Footage shared on social media shows several individuals confronting participants carrying Israeli flags during the annual Pride in London march. The videos depict a verbal confrontation that escalated from political slogans to explicitly antisemitic insults.

Initially, demonstrators chanted “Free Palestine” at one participant holding an Israeli flag. The exchange then became more hostile.

“Go back to your Zionist homeland,” one participant is heard shouting at the person carrying the flag, while another is heard yelling, “F— you, Jew.”

In another video, an individual launched into a prolonged tirade, accusing the Israeli flag holder of “killing Arab children” and “killing gay children,” an apparent reference to Israel’s military campaign against Hamas following the October 7, 2023 attacks.

Several of the videos showed Metropolitan Police officers standing nearby as the verbal abuse unfolded, with officers failing to intervene.

Following the circulation of the videos, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that it was aware of the incident.

“We are aware of videos circulating online that show verbal abuse directed towards attendees at the Pride in London event,” a police spokesperson said in a media statement.

“Officers are currently reviewing footage to assess and investigate,” the statement added.

Notably, the UK has strict hate speech laws, which have seen citizens arrested and even imprisoned for remarks criticizing illegal immigration to the country and transgender ideology.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism condemned the incident, arguing that the abuse demonstrated how anti-Israel rhetoric can, in some instances, develop into overt antisemitism.

“The transition from “free Palestine” to “f*** Jews” is usually silent. This incident shows it loudly and explicitly,” a spokesperson for the organization told The Telegraph.

“Jewish people have given up expecting to be included in so-called inclusive movements, but they should still be entitled to the same protections under the law as everybody else,” the spokesperson added.
