IDF forces in Hebron on Monday morning arrested a female Arab armed with a knife who was on her way to carry out a stabbing attack.
The forces, securing the Beit Hashalom compound in the city, noticed an Arab woman acting suspiciously. They searched her and found she was carrying a large knife in her bag.
She reportedly told the troops that she had intended to stab and kill Jews.
Beit Hashalom has previously been the target of Arab attacks. An Arab terrorist in March attempted to stab Israeli soldiers at the entrance to Beit Hashalom, situated between Kiryat Arba and Hebron.
On July 5, five IDF soldiers were wounded when a Palestinian rammed a car into them on a roadside north of Jerusalem.
On June 27, Israeli forces arrested nine Palestinian Arabs suspected of involvement in terrorist activities and violent disturbances against civilians and security forces.
