The former Iranian president, who has previously expressed a desire to see the Jewish State of Israel abolished, wrote to Trump about his supposed concerns regarding ”US security bodies” supporting terrorism.
Former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad recently penned a letter to President Donald Trump calling for him to stop what he claimed to be backing terrorism on the part of “US security services.”
“I regret to remind you that most of the known terrorist groups across the contemporary world have either been or are formed and reinforced by US security services, or have, halfway through, started to serve their goals,” Ahmadinejad charged.
“The fundamental fight against terrorism would mean cutting the terrorists’ financial resources and the intelligence, financial and arms support of US security bodies, as well as those of US allied governments.”
Ahmadinejad’s request is ironic in light of Iran’s backing for the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah, as well as the Hamas terrorist group that controls the Gaza Strip.
“Terrorism is an anti-human tool in the hands of global powers in order to cause insecurity and rifts, as well as to impose their will and policies on nations and governments,” Ahmadinejad added.
Ahmadinejad received international notoriety in 2005 when media outlets worldwide reported his call for Israel to be “wiped off the map” during his address to a conference titled, “The World Without Zionism.” Other accounts disputed the translation, claiming that Ahmadinejad said that Israel, “must vanish from the pages of time,” still conveying a clear aspiration for the end of the Jewish State.
