Former Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar and his wife were rushed out of the United Arab Emirates after Israeli security officials received what was described as an exceptional threat to the former intelligence chief during his visit, according to Channel 13.
Bar had been attending a high-level security summit hosted by UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed, alongside some of the world’s top intelligence, military, and government officials. But the conference was abruptly overshadowed when Israeli security services reportedly ordered an immediate extraction, flying the couple back to Israel aboard a special emergency flight.
The nature of the threat remains under wraps, fueling speculation over what triggered the dramatic evacuation. Neither Bar nor Israeli authorities have commented on the incident.
