Hamas chief boasts of Tehran’s support, close ties to Hezbollah

Yahya Sinwar, head of the terrorist group’s Gaza-based leadership, bragged that Hamas has “strong, powerful and warm” relations with the Iranian general thought to be behind a recent rocket attack on Israeli troops.

Hamas’s Gaza Strip leader Yahya Sinwar has boasted about that his organization has received from Iran a large amount of cash, equipment, and expertise.

Hamas, Sinwar said, is in touch with the Iranian-backed Hezbollah group in Lebanon “on an almost daily basis.”

A translation of Sinwar’s speech that Radio Fardo published has the Gaza Strip leader saying that the resistence in Gaza, “has developed its capabilities with the help of God and then with the support of…the Islamic Republic of Iran which provided Al-Qassam Brigades and the resistance factions with a lot of money, equipment and experience before and after the aggression [2008 Operation Cast Lead] where our capabilities were highly developed.

“We promise our nation and the free world that in case of any confrontation with the enemy, we will show them a lot of surprises.”

Sinwar said that the ties between Hamas and Iran went through Qassem Soleimani, a military commander who commands the Islamic Revolutionary Guards’ special forces.

Shin Bet: Iran behind Gaza border unrest

During rioting along the Israel-Gaza border, Israel has arrested a number of Palestinians, many of them belong to the Hamas terror organization or to Islamic Jihad, which also has close ties with Iran.

Interrogation of those arrested by the Shin Bet found that these riots had the purpose of destablizing the situation and providing a diversion so that Hamas terrorists could carry out terror attacks against Israelis.
The Shin Bet also said that it had uncovered proof of Iran’s funding of Hamas’s activities.
