Heroic couple confronted terrorist in deadly Bondi Beach attack

The man is seen knocking the attacker to the ground and grappling with him at close range.

Newly released footage from Australia has revealed the final, heroic moments of two Jewish victims murdered during the antisemitic terror attack at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, showing that they chose to confront the attacker rather than flee.

The short video, filmed from a passing vehicle and circulated on social media on Tuesday, captures a man wearing a purple shirt jumping out of a car and charging at one of the terrorists.

He is seen knocking the attacker to the ground and grappling with him at close range. Moments later, the man succeeds in wresting a shotgun from the terrorist and holding it in his hands.

Despite managing to seize the weapon and attempting to neutralize the attacker, the man was shot and killed, apparently by a second firearm carried by the terrorist. A woman who confronted the attacker alongside him was also shot dead.

The two victims have been identified as Boris (69) and his wife Sofia Gorman  (61), Jewish immigrants of Russian origin who lived in a suburb of Sydney.

Additional drone footage taken after the attack shows a heartbreaking scene, with Boris and Sofia lying side by side on the pavement where they fell.

The attack, carried out during a Jewish community Chanukah event, left 15 people murdered and dozens more wounded, several critically. A black ISIS flag was visible on the windshield of the attacker’s vehicle, according to the footage and eyewitness accounts.

Another act of courage during the attack came from Ahmed al-Ahmed, a Muslim immigrant from Syria, who charged one of the terrorists and wrestled away his weapon as the gunfire erupted.

Al-Ahmed, who was shot multiple times and remains hospitalized, told those close to him that he does not regret his actions and would act the same way again.

While the Bondi Beach Chanukah massacre ranks among the deadliest antisemitic terror attacks in Australia’s history, the toll could have been far worse were it not for these acts of extraordinary bravery carried out under fire.
