Israeli president Isaac Herzog (Haim Zach, GPO)
President Isaac Herzog said his dream is to see Israel establish peace with Saudi Arabia, praising Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and expressing hope that he will one day visit Riyadh officially. In an interview with Saudi-owned Al Arabiya, Herzog said closer ties between Jerusalem and Riyadh would be a historic step toward lasting peace across the Middle East.
Herzog pointed to the Abraham Accords as proof that normalization can transform the region, saying Israel’s partnerships with the UAE, Bahrain and Morocco show what is possible. He stressed that expanding the circle of peace remains one of Israel’s most important strategic goals.
Addressing Iran, Herzog welcomed the renewed US strikes, saying Tehran’s actions have once again demonstrated that the regime cannot be trusted to uphold agreements. He praised President Donald Trump’s firm response and said Israel and the United States remain closely coordinated despite occasional tactical differences in their approach.
