The Israeli Air Force on Saturday killed two suspected terrorists who crossed the Yellow Line in the southern Gaza Strip and approached troops in violation of the ceasefire terms, the military said.
The pair “conducted suspicious activities on the ground … posing an immediate threat [to the soldiers],” according to the IDF.
The air force eliminated the suspects under the guidance of the troops on the ground.
In a separate incident on Saturday morning, another suspect who crossed the Yellow Line in the southern Strip was eliminated by Israeli forces, the army added.
“IDF troops in the Southern Command remain deployed in accordance with the ceasefire agreement and will continue to operate to remove any immediate threat,” the IDF said.
The Yellow Line is the agreed line that runs across and within the Strip that the IDF has withdrawn to as part of the truce with Hamas.
The Israeli military holds about 53% of the territory to the east of the line, with the western part falling under the control of Hamas.
Terrorists have repeatedly violated the terms of the truce, with frequent crossings of the Yellow Line in a threatening manner to Israeli troops.
Three Israeli soldiers have been killed by terrorists since the ceasefire went into effect on Oct. 10.
The agreement, brokered by the U.S., Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, potentially ended the war that started when thousands of terrorists led by Hamas invaded Israel’s northwestern Negev on Oct. 7, 2023, slaughtered some 1,200 people, and kidnapped 251 more into the Gaza Strip.
