ICC arrest warrants aimed to ‘turn the West’ against Israel: report

The ICC’s Karim Khan allegedly admitted to a Western diplomat that the arrest warrants against Netanyahu and Gallant were politically motivated.

ICC prosecutor Karim Khan’s decision to issue arrest warrants targeting Israeli leaders for alleged war crimes was a calculated move meant to “turn the West” against the Jewish State, according to a bombshell report.

In November 2024, Khan announced that he had filed warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and then-defense minister Yoav Gallant, charging that they had engaged in “crimes against humanity” in the Gaza Strip during the war against the Hamas terror group.

A senior Western diplomat with insider knowledge of the ICC warrants told the Jerusalem Post that Khan, rather than considering the legality of Israel’s war strategy, was motivated by political ambitions.

“You just wait and see,” Khan told the diplomat, according to the report. “If I apply for warrants against Netanyahu, this would give countries like Germany and Canada the excuse they need to turn against the Israeli government.”

The diplomat told the Post that he was taken aback by Khan’s admission, as it was clear that the prosecutor was acting outside of the bounds of his job.

Khan “should [have been] driven by the law and by facts and evidence, not by the thought that Germany might turn on an elected official,” the diplomat said.

Notably, a recent Wall Street Journal report revealed that Khan may have issued the warrants after sexual assault accusations were made against him in order to distract from the probe of his alleged wrongdoing.

The Journal indicated that a review of the timeline around the decision-making process for the warrants was unusual, as Khan announced the move just two weeks after a colleague told ICC officials that the had raped her in a New York City hotel room.

Khan reportedly tried to suppress the complaints against him by telling the alleged victim that publicizing the accusations could derail the war crimes investigation against Israel and “delay justice” for Palestinians.
