A major scandal has rocked the International Criminal Court after chief prosecutor Karim Khan was suspended following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.
Khan, who spearheaded the effort to seek arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, now faces possible removal from office after reports that ICC investigators found evidence of serious misconduct following an 18-month probe.
While Khan denies the allegations, the affair has sent shockwaves through the court and raised fresh questions about the credibility of one of the ICC’s most controversial and high-profile figures. The court’s 125 member states are expected to decide whether he will be permanently removed from his position.
