Israeli security forces arrested a cell of Palestinian terrorists from the Aida refugee camp in Bethlehem who repeatedly targeted Rachel’s Tomb, a complex on the outskirts of the city.
The seven member cell, all minors, are charged with preparing bombs and throwing them at IDF forces securing the compound and at Jewish worshipers praying there.
The holy site marks the burial place of the matriarch Rachel and is frequented by Jewish worshipers.
The attacks, which were executed over the past months and mostly on Fridays, caused damage to the religious site, but did not cause casualties.
The terrorists, aged 16 and 17, were arrested over the past few days.
The cell members admitted to multiple incidents of rock-throwing and the detonation of pipe bombs against Israeli targets, the IDF said in a statement.
They learned to prepare the bombs online.
In related news, the IDF arrested 14 terror suspects on Wednesday night throughout Judea and Samaria. The suspects were arrested for their connection with terrorism activities and for violent actions against civilians. One of the suspects is a Hamas terrorist.
