On Sunday morning, the IDF neutralized terrorists who attempted to infiltrate into Mount Dov close to Israel’s northern border with Lebanon, according to the IDF spokesman’s unit.

Israeli troops found the bodies of the three terrorists after they fought off the attack.

The terrorists were armed with anti-tank missiles, grenades, Kalashnikov rifles, and large amounts of ammunition.

The Hezbollah terrorists took advantage of the fact that the IDF’s surveillance system was partially compromised because of damage.

They also benefitted from the overcast morning and rain as well as the many boulders in the area that could conceal their positions.

As a result, Hezbollah terrorists were able to invade a couple of hundred meters into Mount Dov but were still a distance from residential areas.

The initial movements were detected by scouts who alerted Battalion 1706.

Battalion 1706 had a combination of defense forces that stayed in one place and patrol forces that could maneuver quickly.

Although all three invading terrorists were killed, five IDF soldiers were wounded with grenades, two moderately and three lightly.

During the fighting, the IDF fired over 60 projectiles toward Shebaa farms in Lebanon.

Hezbollah intended to destroy Israel’s military installation in the area and boasted of eight separate attacks in one day.

Over the weekend, Hezbollah fired missiles into the northern towns Zar’it, Shomer and Kiryat Yuval.

Anti-tank fire in Kiryat Yuval killed an alert squad member Barak Ayalon (48) and his mother Mira (76).

Barak Ayalon was found dead at the scene and his mother Mira was transported by helicopter to a hospital before she succumbed to her injuries.

In addition, a man in his mid-seventies was treated for acute anxiety resulting from the terror attacks.

The IDF responded by hitting Hezbollah targets including a command center and terrorist infrastructure.

Hezbollah responded with more strikes, but they landed in open fields in Misgav Am and Goren.
