Israeli security forces killed a Palestinian whom they felt was threatening them.
IDF forces on Tuesday shot and killed a Palestinian whom they thought was attempting to ram his car into them at a checkpoint they were manning in Samaria.
According to a statement by the IDF, the car approached the troops in a “suspicious fashion,” to which one of the soldiers responded by firing at the threat.
The driver and a family member who was in the car at the time of the incident were hit by the bullets.
No Israelis were harmed in the incident.
The Palestinian was treated by IDF medics and was evacuated to an Israeli hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The family member, a female, was hit in her shoulder and was taken by Palestinian medics to a hospital in Ramallah.
Palestinian sources identified the terrorist as Muhammad Abdallah Mussa, 25. The female family member was identified as his sister Latiffa.
The IDF has launched an investigation into the incident.
