Following Israel Defense Minister Israel Katz’s stark warning that Israel’s state media “would disappear,” the IDF struck the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network (IRINN) during a live broadcast.

Live coverage was cut immediately on Monday during the strike on the building that housed the station.

Earlier in the day, Katz said, “Iranian propaganda and incitement mouthpiece is on its way to disappearing,” and he ordered the evacuation of residences in the area of the building.

The IDF wrote an evacuation order in Persian that said, “In the coming hours, the (Israeli military) will operate in the area, as it has in recent days throughout Tehran, to strike military infrastructure of the Iranian regime.”

Following the strike on the Iran News Network, a senior official at the broadcasting service, Hassan Abedini, said, “The Zionist regime, the enemy of the Iranian nation, minutes ago conducted a military operation against the Islamic Republic of Iran news network.”

“The regime (Israel) was unaware of the fact that the voice of the Islamic Revolution and the great Iran will not be silenced with a military operation,” he continued.

Iranian media reported that the IDF had struck a military base in western Tehran.

Earlier Monday, the IDF said it had achieved “total air superiority in the skies over Tehran.”

The media building is located in the Third District of eastern Tehran, an affluent area that is home to embassies and government buildings.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz’s warning was fulfilled after the IDF struck the Shahran oil depot on Saturday. Early that day, he posted on X, “If [Iran’s leader Ali] Khamenei continues to fire missiles at the Israeli home front, Tehran will burn.”

His posts commented on a series of Iranian missile attacks in Israel that left three people dead and dozens more wounded.

Israel struck the Shahran oil depot and an oil tank near Tehran on Saturday evening.

As a continuation of his earlier post, Katz then wrote: “Tehran is burning.”
