Israeli forces killed a Palestinian terror suspect wanted in a drive-by shooting near Ofra just hours after an Israeli baby delivered prematurely as a result of the weekend attack died.

The Shin Bet security agency said Salah Barghouti, 29, son of Hamas leader Omar Barghouti, was killed while attempting to harm Israeli forces as he sought to escape from an arrest raid. It said an unspecified number of additional suspects were arrested.

In Sunday night’s attack, terrorists in a Palestinian vehicle opened fire on a group of Israelis waiting at a bus stop, wounding seven.

One of the victims, 21-year-old Shira Ish-Ran, was in her 30th week of pregnancy. The unborn child was also injured and was removed immediately from Ish-Ran’s womb, but passed away Wednesday afternoon.

The father, Amichai Ish-Ran, also sustained injuries to his legs.

The terrorist captured today was neutralized in a shootout north of Ramallah, reported Times of Israel, relying on Palestinian media reports.

The reports quoted by the Times maintain the terrorist is a taxi driver who was caught while driving his car in the village of Surda.

In addition to the suspect in the Ofra attack, two other individuals in the vehicle were also apprehended.
