‘I’m Jewish by association,’ says Musk during Auschwitz visit

Shrugging off accusations of antisemitism, Musk makes a historic visit to Auschwitz concentration camp with conservative Jewish pundit Ben Shapiro.

After months of controversy in which liberal Jewish groups such as the ADL have accused X and its owner Elon Musk of promoting antisemitic content on his platform, the tech mogul has decided to take a proactive approach in defending his reputation and that of his platform.

On Monday, Elon Musk paid a visit to the Auschwitz concentration camp with conservative Jewish pundit and Daily Wire cofounder Ben Shapiro and European Jewish rabbinical leader Rabbi Moshe Margolin.

During his visit, Musk expressed his shock at the brutality committed against millions of defenseless Jewish women and children by the Nazis. “No one should be happy after killing children” Musk said as he toured the killing grounds.

Musk, who was educated in Jewish elementary schools in South Africa described himself as “aspirationally Jewish” and “Jewish by association,” claiming that most of his friends and social circles are predominantly Jewish. Proudly displaying a dog tag he was gifted by the family of an Israeli hostage, Musk reaffirmed his commitment to keep wearing his dog tag until all of the Israeli hostages are freed.

Relating to the October  7 massacre and the subsequent war between Israel and Hamas, Musk pointed out the common moral fallacy that in conflict, the weaker side is always right.

While Musk recognized that as a free speech platform, some level of antisemitism is unavoidable on X.   He pointed out that countless lives could have been saved had social media been around during the Holocaust as it would make genocide impossible to hide. He also pointed out that the levels of antisemitic content are significantly lower on X than other social media platforms such as Tiktok.

“It’s deeply sad and tragic that humans can do this to other humans” Musk said during his visit to the death camps. Seeing firsthand the sheer evil that human beings are capable of, Musk emphasized that the shocking pro-Hamas riots recently sprouting in cities and universities around the world are a wakeup call for humanity.
