Iran claims to have seized Israel’s nuclear secrets

The report did not provide details about how thousands of documents related to Israel’s nuclear plans and facilities were obtained.

Iran claims that it has obtained thousands of pages of sensitive Israeli intelligence, including information about its nuclear capabilities.

According to the report by the Hezbollah-affiliated Al Mayadeen Lebanese TV channel, the intelligence was transferred from Israel to Iran some time ago.

“There are so many documents that reviewing them and viewing images and videos has taken a significant amount of time,” sources told Iran’s Tasnim news agency.

The sources said that the information was delivered to “protected areas” in Iran.

The report did not provide details about how “thousands of documents related to that regime’s nuclear plans and facilities” were obtained.

In late May, two Jewish men in their 20s from northern Israel were arrested on suspicion of spying on behalf of the Iranian government.

In a coordinated operation, conducted by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Israel Police’s Lahav 433 National Crime Unit, two 24-year-old residents of Nesher, Roi Mizrahi and Almog Atias, were arrested in late April.

The arrests followed suspicions that the pair had gathered intelligence in Kfar Ahim, a moshav in south-central Israel that is home to Defense Minister Israel Katz.

The investigation found that throughout 2025, Mizrahi maintained contact with Iranian terrorist operatives and carried out a series of security-related missions for them in exchange for money. Atias assisted Mizrahi in several of these operations, fully aware they were acting under Iranian direction and that their actions posed a threat to national security.

While working under the direction of Iranian operatives, Mizrahi reportedly purchased a new cellphone and installed a specialized communication app to maintain secure contact with his handlers.

According to the investigation, he was instructed to locate and move a buried bag, which he believed contained an explosive device.

“This case is part of a broader pattern of ongoing attempts by hostile intelligence and terrorist organizations to recruit Israeli citizens for operations intended to endanger the state and its people,” said an Israeli security official.

This arrest marks the 20th Iranian-linked espionage case thwarted by Israeli authorities since October 7, 2023.

Separately, police announced the arrest of another suspect: a 16-year-old accused of spying for Iran and allegedly collecting intelligence on former prime minister Naftali Bennett.
