Iranian MP and member of the national security committee warns that if US strikes Iran, Tehran could retaliate with attacks on Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

Iran may target President Donald Trump’s private residence in Florida if he orders the US military to strike the Islamic Republic, a senior Iranian lawmaker warned recently.
During an interview with the Persian news site Didban Iran, MP Amir Hayat Moghaddam, a member of the Iranian parliament’s national security and foreign policy committee, said that if the US strikes Iran, Tehran would retaliate with a “crushing response.”
Among other things, Iran could respond by attacking Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, bombing American military bases in the Middle East, sinking US Navy ships deployed in the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman, and killing American service members, “soldier, officer, or general.”
“If the Americans attack, we will immediately give a crushing response,” Moghaddam said.
“In case of war, our attacks may not remain limited to the Middle East. We can target America itself.”
“You might one day see Trump’s own palace hit,” he continued.
The US did not respond to Moghaddam’s comments.
Moghaddam’s comments came just days after American and Iranian officials gathered in Geneva last Tuesday for the second round of nuclear talks, following a summit earlier this month in Muscat, Oman.
Both sides later reported that the negotiations in Geneva were productive.
A senior Iranian official told Reuters in a report published over the weekend that talks are slated to resume next month.
He added that the two sides may reach an interim nuclear deal in the near future, with Tehran signaling its willingness to temporarily halt uranium enrichment operations, while insisting that it retain control over its existing uranium stockpile.
Iran might agree to dilute its enriched uranium, or place it under temporary foreign custodianship, as it did following the signing of the 2015 nuclear deal.
