President Trump says his administration is weighing “strong options” against Iran.

President Donald Trump signaled Sunday night that his patience is wearing thin as the death toll in the Iranian government’s crackdown on anti-regime protesters soars, warning that the US may use military force against Iran.
The president spoke with reporters aboard Air Force One, responding to questions regarding reports of widespread killing of protesters amid an internet blackout in Iran.
Trump said that Iran is “starting” to cross the red lines that he set over the past few weeks, in repeated warnings against the use of deadly force against protesters.
“There seem to be some people killed that aren’t supposed to be killed,” Trump said.
“These are violent…leaders. I don’t know if they are leaders or just they rule through violence. But we are looking at it very seriously, the military is looking at it. We are looking at some very strong options. We will make a determination.”
When asked whether he would order strikes on Iranian targets following the mass killings of protesters in Iran, Trump said his administration is assessing the situation and that he would “make a determination” in the near future.
The president also said he wanted to get a clearer picture of the full extent of the deaths caused by the regime crackdown, suggesting that some of the protesters killed recently may have died as a result of “stampeding.”
“Some of the protesters were killed through the stampeding…there is so many of them. And some were shot. We’re getting a full report. I’m getting an hourly report, and we are going to make a determination.”
According to a report by the Human Rights Activists News Agency on Sunday, 544 fatalities have been confirmed since the protests began, while some dissidents claimed over the weekend at least 2,000 protesters were gunned down.
