‘Iran war to end soon; Tehran won’t have nukes’ – Trump

The president claimed the military campaign against Iran “will be over quickly” despite ongoing regional tensions.

President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the war with Iran would soon come to an end, insisting that the conflict’s conclusion would ensure the Islamic regime is unable to obtain nuclear weapons.

Speaking in a video appearance at a campaign rally for Republican Georgia gubernatorial candidate Burt Jones, Trump assured supporters that the fighting would not continue for long.

“When you look at the kind of things that are happening, we are doing that for one very important reason: We cannot allow them to have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.

Trump argued that most Americans understand why the military campaign against Iran is necessary and believe it will end quickly.

“I think most people understand that” preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is critical, Trump said.

“They understand that what we are doing is right, and it’ll be over quickly,” he added.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump told reporters that Iran would soon agree to a deal banning the country from pursuing nuclear weapons development.

Iran “badly” wants to make a deal, Trump said.

“We’ll see if we get there. If we get there, they can’t have nuclear weapons. It’s very simple,” he said.

Also on Wednesday, in a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump announced that Iran has one week to agree to a deal or face renewed military action that he warned would be even more intense than before the ceasefire that took effect on April 7.

“Assuming Iran agrees to give what has been agreed to, which is, perhaps, a big assumption, the already legendary Epic Fury will be at an end, and the highly effective Blockade will allow the Hormuz Strait to be OPEN TO ALL, including Iran,” Trump wrote.

“If they don’t agree, the bombing starts, and it will be, sadly, at a much higher level and intensity than it was before.”
