A series of Iranian missile attacks struck central Israel on Friday, wounding two people in Rehovot and causing damage to residential buildings as sirens sounded across several regions, Ynet reported.

Air raid alerts were triggered in the Jerusalem area, Gush Dan, the Sharon and Lakhish regions as part of repeated launches throughout the day.

After a lull of several hours, another barrage targeted central areas, marking at least the fourth wave.

In Rehovot, impacts damaged multiple buildings. Two people were lightly injured in what medics described as a blast from an apparent cluster-type munition.

Magen David Adom said a man and a woman in their 70s were treated at the scene and were in good condition.

Earlier, a separate strike hit a home in the city, but those inside were unharmed after taking shelter.

Local officials said some residents were exposed due to a lack of protected spaces. “An elderly man was in the house, and he doesn’t have a protected space. A missile fragment fell and did not hit him. We evacuated him, he is lightly injured. He is a bit confused, but he is okay,” the Mayor of Rehovot said at the scene.

The attacks formed part of ongoing missile fire from Iran, with several waves reported over the course of Friday. Additional projectiles were also launched from Lebanon, though no injuries were reported in that incident.

The renewed strikes followed a temporary pause in sirens before launches resumed toward central Israel.
