IDF silences voice of IRGC spokesman in overnight strike

Naini had served in multiple roles over the years within Iran’s propaganda apparatus, most recently acting as the chief voice of the IRGC.

The Israeli Air Force carried out an overnight strike that killed Ali Mohammad Naini, the spokesman and head of public relations for Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the military said.

According to the IDF, the operation was conducted with intelligence guidance and targeted Naini as part of Israel’s broader campaign against senior figures within the Iranian regime.

Naini had served in multiple roles over the years within Iran’s propaganda apparatus, most recently acting as the chief voice of the IRGC. In that capacity, he was responsible for disseminating the regime’s messaging across the Middle East, promoting narratives aligned with its military and proxy operations against Israel.

As the public face of the organization, Naini regularly delivered statements aimed at shaping regional perception and amplifying the activities of Iran’s network of allied groups.

His elimination comes amid a broader wave of targeted strikes against senior figures in Iran’s leadership over the past week.

Among those killed was Esmaeil Khatib, Iran’s intelligence minister and a close ally of Ali Khamenei, who was appointed to the role in 2021.

A day earlier, Israeli warplanes struck multiple targets in Tehran, killing several senior officials, including Ali Larijani, a central figure within the regime who served as secretary of the Supreme National Security Council. He was killed alongside his son and the council’s deputy secretary.

In the same wave of operations, Israel also eliminated Gholamreza Soleimani, commander of the Basij militia, a key arm of the IRGC responsible for internal security.

The succession of strikes underscores Israel’s focus on both operational and strategic leadership within the regime. The IDF said it will continue to act “with strength and determination” against Iran’s leadership and command structure as the campaign continues.
