Iranian state TV exposes Israel’s nuclear ‘secrets’

Iranian intelligence minister claims Tehran had obtained information earlier this year and used it to strike sensitive locations inside Israel during the summer war.

Iranian state television on Wednesday aired a documentary claiming to reveal sensitive details about Israel’s nuclear program.

The broadcast included copies of passports said to belong to Israeli scientists, maps of military locations, and footage it alleged was filmed inside the Dimona reactor in southern Israel.

Israel has never officially confirmed nor denied possessing nuclear weapons, though foreign reports describe Dimona as the centerpiece of its capabilities.

The program also targeted the International Atomic Energy Agency. It displayed personal photographs of agency director Rafael Grossi, including one described as private, and accused Israel of spying on the UN nuclear watchdog.

Since June, Iranian leaders have accused the agency of failing to condemn Israeli and later US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.

Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib appeared in the film, claiming that Tehran had obtained information earlier this year and used it to strike sensitive locations inside Israel during the summer war.

Iranian officials had already asserted that they were in possession of thousands of Israeli documents concerning military and nuclear facilities.

The broadcast followed the 12-day war in June that began with an Israeli strike on Iranian nuclear and military infrastructure. The operation targeted uranium enrichment plants, missile systems, and senior figures in Iran’s defense establishment.

Jerusalem said the action was necessary to prevent Iran from advancing toward a nuclear weapon. Iran retaliated with more than 500 ballistic missiles and about 1,100 drones against Israel, killing 31 people and wounding more than 3,000, the majority of them civilians.

At the United Nations General Assembly this week, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian repeated his denial that Iran seeks to develop nuclear weapons.

Western powers remain unconvinced, pointing to Tehran’s enrichment of uranium at levels that have no civilian use and its restrictions on IAEA inspectors.

France, Britain, and Germany have triggered a mechanism to restore UN sanctions, with French President Emmanuel Macron urging Iran to allow full access to inspectors.

Israel regards Iran’s nuclear ambitions as an existential threat and continues to monitor Tehran’s activities closely.
