Israeli security expert says Iranian forces are facing defection rates as high as 90%, with a new uprising expected within a matter of weeks.

Iran will likely face a new uprising in a few weeks, an Israeli security expert predicted, noting that regime forces are facing high desertion and defection rates.
On Monday, the anti-regime Iran International spoke with IDF Brig. Gen. (ret.) Amir Avivi, the CEO of the Israel Defense and Security Forum.
Avivi said that the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran are no longer aiming to contain the Iranian regime, but to topple it.
He added that in the coming weeks, the Islamic Republic’s security apparatus will be degraded to the point where the US and Israel will call on dissidents to overthrow the regime.
“It’s a matter of weeks until the US and Israel will assess that this regime is weak enough,” Avivi said. “And then there will be a call to the Iranian people to go to the streets and take over the country.”
“And when they will do that…above their heads, there will be Israeli drones and American capabilities defending them from the air — and any attempt to hit the Iranian people will be met by an attack.”
While the regime has not yet been sufficiently weakened to enable opposition forces to overthrow the government, Avivi said that there are already clear signs of an impending collapse.
“We see defection in many units. Some units you have 90 percent defection,” Avivi said, adding that the economic pressure could have an even greater long-term impact.
“They are not trading. How long can a country continue with no import, no export?”
Journalist David Patrikarakos cited sources who told him that the regime in Iran is “in disarray.”
However, for the time being, the regime appears to be able to maintain a degree of internal order, Patrikarakos said, relaying reports of dozens of soldiers being executed for disobeying orders.
