Iran’s tallest bridge heavily damaged in US airstrikes

The B1 Bridge is a major commuter and trade route linking Tehran to Karaj and northern/western Iran.

The B1 Bridge (also known as the B-1 Bridge) on the Karaj Northern Bypass in Alborz province has been hit multiple times in US airstrikes, causing major structural damage and partial collapse.

Iranian state media (Fars News Agency and IRIB) confirm the bridge, described as the highest/tallest in the Middle East at approximately 136–146 meters, was struck at least twice today near the Azimiyeh area west of Tehran.

The second strike reportedly occurred while rescue teams were on scene assisting victims from the first attack.

At least 2 civilians were killed, with several others injured.

Power outages have been reported in surrounding areas.

Iranian officials are calling it a direct attack on civilian infrastructure with no military value.

The B1 Bridge is a major commuter and trade route linking Tehran to Karaj and northern/western Iran.

It was a recent engineering showcase, nearing full completion or recently inaugurated.

President Donald Trump reacted immediately on Truth Social, posting dramatic video footage of the bridge collapsing with the message:

“The biggest bridge in Iran comes tumbling down, never to be used again — Much more to follow! IT IS TIME FOR IRAN TO MAKE A DEAL BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.”

Iran has vowed retaliation, with some officials warning that “regional bridges” (including in Israel) could now be considered legitimate targets.
