Israel strikes Iranian explosives facility despite Trump signaling truce

Israel struck dozens of targets across Iran on Tuesday, including what it described as the country’s “main” explosives production facility in the Isfahan area, as fighting continued despite US President Trump signaling a possible pause in escalation.

The Israeli Air Force targeted the facility as part of a broader wave of strikes against Iran’s “production industries” in Isfahan, the military said.

According to the IDF, the site was used to manufacture explosives for various weapons and had previously been hit during the June 2025 war before Iran worked to restore it in recent months.

The strikes were part of a wider operation in which Israeli jets dropped more than 120 bombs on dozens of targets across Iran, the military said.

Those targets included ballistic missile launch sites, weapons production facilities, and air defense systems.

The operation followed continued Iranian attacks on Israel, which persisted despite Trump’s announcement Monday that he was considering postponing his ultimatum to strike Iranian energy infrastructure.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he was open to delaying action after what he described as talks with Iranian officials. Iranian media denied that any such discussions had taken place.

Despite the stated possibility of a pause, Iran has continued launching strikes at Israel.

The IDF said the latest airstrikes were aimed at degrading Iran’s military capabilities, focusing on infrastructure linked to weapons production and missile operations.

The Isfahan facility was described by the military as a central component in Iran’s explosives manufacturing network, making it a priority target in the current round of strikes.

These developments come amid ongoing exchanges of fire between the sides, with Israeli operations continuing in parallel with Iranian attacks, despite signals from Washington suggesting a potential diplomatic opening.
