Police forces in Jerusalem on Monday arrested a Palestinian woman after she was again found to be carrying a knife, apparently on the way to commit a terror attack.
The would-be-terrorist, 24, aroused the suspicion of policemen stationed at the entrance to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem’s Old City. They searched her and found the knife, after which she was arrested.
She stated during her questioning that she intended to attack policemen, the police stated.
It further became apparent that this was the fourth time she was arrested while carrying a knife on the way to committing attack, after she was previously arrested three times in the Hebron area.
The suspect will be brought before judge on Tuesday to be remanded, the police stated.
A police spokesman lauded the officers’ “alertness and professionalism,” which prevented a potentially lethal attack.
This incident was the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of almost a year, claiming the lives of 39 victims and wounding over 500.
