Sen. John Fetterman torched New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani after the mayor suggested his administration was exploring whether it could detain Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his expected visit to the UN General Assembly, dismissing the proposal as impossible political theater.
“He’s just a clown,” Fetterman told Fox News. “America’s not even part of that corrupt court,” he said, referring to the International Criminal Court (ICC), which issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu. “Sit down and focus on the problems in New York. That’s really not your purview.”
Netanyahu’s office blasted Mamdani’s remarks, calling the ICC “a kangaroo court” with no jurisdiction over Israel or the United States and accusing the mayor of targeting the Jewish state instead of addressing New York’s problems. Fetterman also reaffirmed his unwavering support for Israel, warning that he would reconsider remaining a Democrat if the party officially embraced anti-Israel figures and policies
