US hammers Iran for ninth straight night as war spreads across the Middle East

The United States unleashed a ninth consecutive night of strikes on Iran, hitting military command centers, air defenses, missile and drone launch sites, maritime capabilities, and communications networks, as Washington intensified its campaign against the Islamic Republic.

President Donald Trump said the strikes were carried out in honor of the US service members killed in recent days, vowing to hold Iran accountable and declaring the campaign would continue until Tehran is denied a nuclear weapon.

Iran responded by opening multiple fronts across the region. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it struck a US command center at Al-Tanf in Syria, targeted US military aircraft at Jordan’s Aqaba Airport, and reported two oil tankers had exploded in the Strait of Hormuz. Kuwait said its air defenses were intercepting hostile Iranian drones, while Bahrain sounded nationwide air raid sirens and urged residents to take shelter. The Iranian claims have not been independently verified.

With battles now stretching from Iran to the Gulf and neighboring Arab states, the confrontation is increasingly taking on the characteristics of a regional war. As Washington vows to keep striking and Tehran threatens broader retaliation, the risk of a wider Middle East conflict continues to grow.
