Leaked Knesset paper weighs how to execute Hamas terrorists

According to the leaked paper, lawmakers are weighing how much medical oversight to require, after Israel’s Medical Association warned that doctors are barred from taking part in executions.

A leaked internal Knesset document lays out options for how Israel could carry out death sentences against captured Hamas terrorists, ahead of an upcoming closed-door discussion.

The paper reviews methods already under quiet examination, including lethal injection and the electric chair, alongside additional “battlefield-appropriate” options.

The draft aligns with the new death-penalty bill that already passed its first Knesset reading and is designed for terrorists who murdered Israelis out of nationalist hatred.

Legal teams are reportedly building cases so Nukhba massacre operatives can be indicted on capital offenses, while the final go/no-go decision on executions is expected to rest with the prime minister once the law is fully approved.

According to the leaked paper, lawmakers are weighing how much medical oversight to require, after Israel’s Medical Association warned that doctors are barred from taking part in executions.

In committee debates, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has already hinted that if physicians refuse, the state will examine alternatives, bluntly suggesting more traditional methods if needed.

The document also flags unresolved questions: whether all Hamas death sentences would be carried out inside Israel, how long appeals could delay an execution, and if October 7 terrorists would be prioritized.

While the Knesset has not publicly acknowledged the leak, its content closely tracks Israel’s visible preparations to move from symbolic legislation to real consequences for Hamas murderers.
