‘Let Bibi Go’ – Trump slams continued ‘witch hunt’ against Netanyahu

US President Trump warned that Israel’s legal system is endangering ceasefire and hostage deal talks by keeping Prime Minister Netanyahu in the courtroom, rather than at the negotiating table.

US President Donald Trump slammed the criminal trial against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a blistering social media post on Saturday evening, saying that Israeli prosecutors were derailing important negotiations, including with the Hamas terror group to secure the return of the hostages, by continuing to pursue charges against the premier.

Saturday’s post marked the second time in three days that the American president publicly criticized the ongoing trial against Netanyahu.

“It is terrible what they are doing in Israel to Bibi Netanyahu,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform, using the prime minister’s nickname.

Trump described Netanyahu as a “war hero” who “did a fabulous job working with the United States to bring Great Success in getting rid of the dangerous Nuclear threat in Iran,” adding that the ongoing trial against the Israeli leader was impeding efforts to secure a long-term ceasefire and hostage deal with Hamas.

“How is it possible that the Prime Minister of Israel can be forced to sit in a Courtroom all day long, over NOTHING,” Trump said, citing examples of minor gifts prosecutors allege that Netanyahu illegally accepted, including cigars.

For the second time in days, Trump called the trial a “political witch hunt,” saying it was similar to the weaponized prosecution he was “forced to endure” before his reelection to the presidency in 2024.

“This travesty of ‘Justice’ will interfere with both Iran and Hamas negotiations. In other words, it is INSANITY doing what the out-of-control prosecutors are doing to Bibi Netanyahu,” Trump continued.

“The United States of America spends Billions of Dollar a year, far more than on any other Nation, protecting and supporting Israel. We are not going to stand for this. We just had a Great Victory with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu at the helm — And this greatly tarnishes our Victory.”

Trump ended his post by demanding that Israel’s legal system “let Bibi go,” because he has “a big job to do.”
