Manchester Police Give Update on Yom Kippur Attack

Greater Manchester Police said Friday that one of the victims of the horrific Yom Kippur synagogue attack was likely killed by police gunfire.

The terrorist, 35-year-old Jihad al-Shami, a British citizen of Syrian origin, rammed his car into worshippers outside the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation on Middleton Road before exiting the vehicle and stabbing others.

Another worshipper was also injured by police fire, while several more were wounded in the vehicle-ramming and stabbings.
