Missile barrages from Iran and Hezbollah injure at least eight across Israel; direct hit reported in Nahariya

At least eight people were injured across Israel on Monday after Iran and Hezbollah launched multiple missile and rocket attacks, including a direct strike on a residential building in Nahariya in northern Israel, authorities said.

Emergency responders said the projectile landed between two residential buildings in Nahariya, igniting a large fire and damaging nearby gas tanks.

Israel Fire and Rescue Authority crews worked to contain the blaze and search the structure for residents who might have been trapped.

Magen David Adom reported that paramedics treated a 40-year-old man who suffered a head injury and evacuated him to the hospital.

Six additional casualties — four adults and two children — were treated for smoke inhalation and also transported for medical care. Officials said one person was listed in moderate condition.

The Israel Police said a structure in the Asher region sustained damage, and the Nahariya Municipality urged residents to stay away from affected areas of the city following reports of rocket impacts.

Elsewhere, debris from intercepted missiles fell across several parts of the country earlier in the day.

United Hatzalah said shrapnel landed in Jerusalem and in Beit Shemesh, west of the capital, at approximately 3 p.m.

The Israel Fire and Rescue Authority said firefighters responded to locations in Jerusalem after reports of damage to open areas, a residential building, and a vehicle.

Police officers were also dispatched to several sites where fragments were reported.

Police cited by KAN said debris also landed near the Knesset and on the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in the Old City.

Magen David Adom said a man suffered minor burns to his hand after touching shrapnel in Jerusalem and was transported to Hadassah-University Medical Center on Mount Scopus.

Authorities said intercepted missile fragments or cluster munitions caused damage at 10 locations across the country, including seven in Rishon Lezion as well as sites along Highway 431, in Lod, and in Shoham.

Later Monday night, sirens sounded across central Israel and Samaria following additional Iranian missile launches. Magen David Adom said there were no reports of injuries or falling debris from that barrage.

Officials continued urging the public to avoid approaching missile fragments and to follow Home Front Command safety instructions.
