Eliezer Ashkenazi, left his home in Kfar Saba early on Sunday morning to go to his military base in the Golan Heights.

When he did not arrive on base as scheduled an emergency command center was opened by the police to find the young man.

“Throughout the night we’ve conducted a search for the soldier from Kfar Saba, who left his home at 5:30 a.m. and unusually, did not arrive at the base,” said police commander Yekutiel Ben Yaakov.

Police tracked Ashkenazi’s cellphone to the Sharon area of Israel.
