‘Move fast’ – Trump says hostages could be released by end of the week

Hamas confirms it will take part in Gaza deal talks at Sinai summit, as President Trump implores both sides to “move fast” to implement the agreement or face “massive bloodshed.”

President Donald Trump expressed optimism over the weekend regarding the prospects for implementing his administration’s Gaza peace plan, after Hamas agreed to take part in talks in Egypt to hammer out the details for a truce.

Overnight, the terrorist group confirmed that Khalil al-Hayya, chief of the Hamas politburo, is leading a delegation to represent the group in talks at Sharm el-Sheikh on Monday.

“A delegation of the movement, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, arrived in Egypt to begin talks regarding the mechanisms of a ceasefire, the withdrawal of occupation forces, and a prisoner exchange,” Hamas said.

Hamas has previously indicated its support for the Trump plan, while hinting it would also seek changes, despite Trump’s insistence the terror group accept the entire proposal as is.

In a post to his Truth Social account on Sunday, the president described talks conducted with Hamas regarding the peace plan as “very positive,” adding that the deal could be implemented in the very near future.

“There have been very positive discussions with Hamas, and Countries from all over the World (Arab, Muslim, and everyone else) this weekend, to release the Hostages, end the War in Gaza but, more importantly, finally have long sought PEACE in the Middle East. These talks have been very successful, and proceeding rapidly,” Trump wrote.

Trump downplayed the differences with Hamas, claiming that Monday’s summit was merely intended to “clarify the final details.”

“The technical teams will again meet Monday, in Egypt, to work through and clarify the final details.”

The president urged both Israel and Hamas to “move fast,” warning that failure to implement the deal would result in “massive bloodshed.”

“I am told that the first phase should be completed this week, and I am asking everyone to MOVE FAST. I will continue to monitor this Centuries old ‘conflict.’ TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE OR, MASSIVE BLOODSHED WILL FOLLOW — SOMETHING THAT NOBODY WANTS TO SEE!”
