Nine Palestinian security prisoners, including one responsible for the deaths of several Israelis, were punished Monday after the Israeli news site Hakol Hayehudi revealed that the terrorists had smuggled a cellphone into jail.

When prison guards at the Nafha prison entered the cell to find the phone and put one of the terrorists in solitary confinement, they were attacked.

Those involved with the violence will receive two weeks’ solitary confinement and a two-month suspension of visits as well as losing the right to buy products in the prison store.

Khalil Abu Aram, imprisoned for five counts of murder, was photographed last month as he prepared cookies in his cell for the Eid al-Fitr holiday that ends the Muslim month of Ramadan.

Yehonatan Kellerman, a teacher and media persona from the Binyamin region, tweeted the picture of Abu Aram and remarked cynically, “Look what fun it is in the summer camp of the Zionist occupation forces’ prison!

“You are welcome to add more summertime activity ideas.”

After the photo went viral, it was picked up by Hakol Hayehudi and published.

As a result, the Nafha prison launched a search for the phone that photographed and circulated the picture.

Abu Aram is responsible for terrorist attacks in the Hebron area, including the murders of Rabbi Yosef Yitzhak Dickstein, his wife Chana and their nine-year-old son Shuv’el Zion. He is also responsible for the deaths of Elazar Lebovich and Oded Volk.
