Oct. 7th wouldn’t have happened on Trump’s watch – Netanyahu

In a podcast interview, Netanyahu said Iran “would have been more careful” if Trump, not Biden, were in office.

The Hamas-led October 7th massacres, in which thousands of terrorists raped, mutilated, and slaughtered Israeli civilians, likely would not have occurred had U.S. President Donald Trump been in office at the time, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a recent podcast interview.

Speaking with Patrick Bet-David on his PBD Podcast, Netanyahu was asked whether a Trump presidency would have prevented the deadliest day in Israeli history.

“Iran would have been more careful” had Trump been in power, Netanyahu said. “It’s hard to tell with these maniacs. Would Iran have completely controlled their proxy? Maybe.”

The prime minister added that then-President Joe Biden had taken numerous steps to limit Israel’s war against Hamas, including pressuring the IDF not to invade Rafah and even threatening an arms embargo should Israel reject the administration’s demands.

Netanyahu said he told Biden officials that “Israel will do what it has to do” and warned that the country would “fight with its fingernails” if the U.S. cut off weapons shipments to the Jewish state.

He acknowledged that Biden initially gave strong support in the immediate aftermath of October 7th, but “as the war continued to progress and the vilification of Israel continued to pile up in the media,” the former president’s position shifted.

For his part, Trump has repeatedly argued that global instability stems from Biden’s weakness.

Speaking alongside Netanyahu at a White House press conference in February, Trump said that “the horrors of October 7th would never have happened if I were president; the Ukraine and Russia disaster would never have happened if I were president.”

He added that “the weakness and incompetence of [the Biden] years” had caused “grave damage around the globe, including in the Middle East.”
