A female Palestinian terrorist was shot and killed by Israeli policemen at the Qalandiya Checkpoint just north of Jerusalem on Wednesday as she attempted to stab them.
No Israelis were injured in the attack.
A police statement said she approached security personnel manning the checkpoint with a knife, and was shot after she failed to heed several calls by security personnel to halt several times. She was identified as 24-year-old resident of the nearby A-Ram.
Another Palestinian, who was apparently part of the attack, was shot and lightly wounded. He was found to be carrying two knives on his body.
The Qalandiya checkpoint has been the site of several terrorist attacks.
The recent Palestinian wave of violence is marked by an increased female role, with several females driven to mostly suicidal attacks by incessant incitement by the Palestinian leadership.
Israeli security forces are on high alert and have bolstered their presence at potential flashpoints ahead of the holiday season, as Israel fears that Palestinian terrorists will renew their wave of attacks after a few weeks of relative quiet.
This incident was the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of the past seven months, claiming the lives of 33 victims and wounding over 400.
