Palestinian terrorists continue to try and injure or kill innocent Israeli civilians. Unfortunately, many of these terrorists are incited to murder by their own leader, President Mahmoud Abbas.
A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and lightly wounded an Israeli man with a screwdriver in Jerusalem on Thursday.
The terrorist fled the scene and security forces launched a manhunt to capture him.
The victim, 26, sustained light to moderate wounds to his back and neck. He was taken to Hadassah Har Hatzofim hospital in the capital for treatment.
The police say the man was leaving the Mount of Olives cemetery when he was attacked. The victim fled to a bus, which took him to nearby border policemen. They provided initial treatment, while alerting a medical team and seeking out the terrorist.
Nati Ostri, a volunteer EMT with United Hatzalah who was one of the first responders on scene and treated the stabbing victim said, “the individual stabbed was a yeshiva student who was visiting the grave of the Rebbe of Slonim together with other Hassidim from the Slonim Yeshiva. When I arrived at the scene the victim was conscious and suffering from a stab wound in his upper body. Together with other EMTs from United Hatzalah’s ambucycle unit we treated the victim.”
The Mount of Olives has been the site of several terror attacks, and the cemetery has been the target of repeated Palestinian vandalism.
This incident was the latest in a long series of Palestinian terror attacks, which have plagued Israelis over the course of 11 months, claiming the lives of 39 victims and wounding over 500.
