A prominent Saudi analyst launched a blistering attack on President Donald Trump, calling him a “paper tiger” and claiming the Gulf no longer trusts Washington to guarantee its security after the US stopped short of toppling Iran’s regime.
Speaking to Russian media, Mubarak Al-Etti argued that Trump’s reluctance to continue the war against Tehran exposed weakening American influence across the Middle East. He claimed Gulf states are no longer taking US pressure to join the Abraham Accords seriously and are increasingly charting their own course.
Al-Etti went even further, declaring that Saudi Arabia will not join the Abraham Accords and is instead helping build a new “Arab-Islamic bloc” with Turkey, Pakistan, and Qatar. He also claimed the emerging alliance seeks a regional arrangement with Iran, signaling what he described as a dramatic shift away from the US-led order in the Middle East.
